Youth Mission Recap

The Edmond First Youth recently embarked on a mission trip to serve as a group of young volunteers with Lifewise STL Ministries. This organization is dedicated to helping individuals and families overcome systemic barriers to economic well-being. The trip lasted from March 17th through the 23rd.

During the mission trip, the Edmond First Youth participated in multiple simulations to understand the challenges of living off only $1,000 a month, well below the national average. This experience was enlightening for everyone involved. They were divided into groups to work on various projects, such as putting together Easter eggs for an Easter egg hunt sponsored by LifeWise Ministries. Other teams cleaned areas ranging from the laundry room to organizing a shed, a street, and even a rose bed. Through these projects, the Edmond First Youth gained valuable insights into concepts such as equality versus equity.

The Edmond First Youth would like to thank the congregation and anyone involved in making this trip possible. The gifts and prayers are much appreciated, and because of YOU, this year’s Youth Mission Trip was a success! Our youth look forward to sharing their experiences with us all soon!

Thank you, Thank YOU, THANK YOU!
