RESOURCE LIBRARY DATABASE

Library database

The library (Rm 116B) at FUMC has a searchable online database that lists all the written and media resources available for congregational use. To access the database, click on the link provided below. If you encounter any issues while searching or have suggestions about the search engine or database, please email the staff. Please note that the software limits the search page's contents and appearance.

The database contains the following fields:

  • Title* Author/Series*

  • Subject* Media*

  • Booklet Copies Leaders Guide?

  • Bookcase Shelf

  • Date Last Inventoried Link to Description

  • Comments

Fields marked with an asterisk (*) are searchable. The Title, Author/Series, and Media fields are free text fields where you can type any word or phrase. The Subject field, however, is not free text; you must select from the labels in the pull-down menu. The search engine uses "AND" to connect multiple search terms. For instance, if you search for "Moore" in the Author/Series field and "DVD" in the Media field, the results will show all studies by authors named Moore accompanied by a DVD in the library.

If you want to display all the holdings simultaneously, click the "Search" button without entering search terms. You can sort the search results by any database field using the "Sort by" pulldown menu just above the results table on the right. You can also download the results in a file format that can be opened in a spreadsheet program (.csv file) for further use.

If you wish to use the library, please call the church office at 405-341-0107 to see if someone can assist you in accessing the building.

The table in the database lists the quantity of resources available and their location, including the bookcase number and shelf number. Bookcases are numbered from left to right, and shelves are numbered from top to bottom. When borrowing materials from the library, please make an entry on the checkout/in sheet located in the Resource Check Out/In binder on Bookcase 1 - Shelf 3. Please enter the title, class or name, the date, and the number of copies of each type of material borrowed. For example, if you borrowed 10 study guides, one leader's guide, and a plate number, enter "10 SG, 1 LG, 1 DVD."

When your class has completed the study, please enter the date and indicate the quantity of each type of material returned in the Resource Check Out/In binder kept on Bookcase 1 - Shelf 3. Please do not reshelve the item, as this process is how we maintain the database. Place all the materials in the return basket on the south wall of the library.

We want to express our gratitude to Mina Feather and others who have helped organize the resource library and make the online database possible.
