Workshop of Wonders (RM 207 CAC)

Preschool through Kindergarten
Discipleship, Play, and Music. Fun activities and 30-minute rotations. Workshop of Wonders is a joyful, engaging class designed for Pre-Kindergarten and kindergarten-aged children. This fun-filled program offers a balanced mix of structured group activities and free exploration, where children will experience 30 minutes of Children’s Choir, singing songs that nurture their love for music and introduce them to leading in worship. The second half of the class, the Workshop of Wonders, focuses on hands-on learning and faith formation, featuring Bible stories, prayer, devotions, and STEM activities that spark curiosity and creativity. Each session is thoughtfully designed to foster spiritual growth and developmental skills through playful learning, helping little ones grow in faith and wonder.
Tiny Wonders: Play & Learn (RM 108 CAC)

Three and Four Year Olds
We offer a fun, safe, and nurturing environment for your little ones while you attend your adult class on Wednesday evenings. Our dedicated childcare team provides age-appropriate activities designed to engage and entertain toddlers, including a bible lesson, interactive games, creative play, songs, and crafts. With a focus on socialization, early learning, and emotional development, children will enjoy a structured yet playful atmosphere. Parents can relax and focus on their class, knowing their children are in caring hands.

Lego Masters

Calling all builders! InLego Masters Club, kids will let their creativity run wild as they plan and construct an ambitiousLego creation over several weeks. Each session will focus on designing, problem-solving, and building whether it’s a towering castle, a futuristic spaceship, or an original invention of their own imagination.
This class encourages teamwork, patience, and creative thinking, while giving kids the chance to see their ideas come to life piece by piece. By the end of the session, each student will proudly showcase their completed Lego masterpiece!
No limits, just bricks, imagination, and hours of building fun!
Creation Explorers:
Led by Children’s Ministry Staff- Willow PhippsCAC GYM
1st through 5th Grade
Come explore and enjoy the beauty ofGod’s creation! In this outdoor class, kids will spend each Wednesday discovering the world around them through fun activities likenature walks to the park, scavenger hunts, outdoor relays, and team challenges. Along the way, we’ll take time to notice the plants, animals, and amazing details that remind us of God’s creativity and care.
Children will build friendships, stay active, touch grass, and learn to appreciate the outdoors while growing in wonder for the world God made. Each week brings a new adventure and a chance to run, explore, and celebrate creation together.
Comfortable shoes, water bottles, and curious hearts encouraged, because God’s world is full of adventures waiting to be discovered!
Children’s Choir

Joyful Sound: Grades 1 – 5, 6:30
Children’s Choirs provide fun and age appropriate activities that focus on worship arts. Instruments, singing, and movement are used to encourage rhythm development, listening skills, and self expression. Most important is for children to experience their part in leading worship at Edmond First United Methodist Church. The Children’s Choirs participate by learning musical responses (Gloria, Doxology, Benediction, etc.) and preparing anthems for worship several times a year.

Quiet Faithfulness: Lessons from the Stories of Daniel

In our world that often expects volume, spectacle, and confrontation, the book of Daniel offers a different vision of faithful living. Through the stories of Daniel and his companions we encounter examples of integrity, humility, courage, and steady trust in God. Even under the shadow of exile and empire, their quiet faithfulness shapes the world around them in profound ways. This study will explore what these stories might teach us today about living with conviction, resisting harmful pressures, and practicing a faith that remains steady even within complicated systems.
Getting Ready to Meet the Saints

In this spring session ofThe Gathering, we will again offer“Getting Ready to Meet the Saints.” This class invites participants to explore, in a thoughtful and relaxed way, the reality of our own eventual deaths and the deaths of loved ones. As Christians who believe in the Resurrection and the promise of everlasting life, we can approach this part of life with faith rather than fear.
Together we will discuss both the spiritual and practical aspects of preparing for life’s final transition, including:
- Reflecting on past experiences with loss
- Preparing a will or trust and considering our living legacy
- Creating aLiving Will orDurable Power of Attorney for Health Care
- Understanding hospice care
- Planning funeral or memorial wishes, including writing an obituary
- Organizing important information so our loved ones are not left with difficult decisions
This series offers a supportive space to talk about an important part of life’s journey with honesty, faith, and preparation.
Know your neighbor: Economic Justice

Jesus commands us to love God and to love our neighbor, but who is our neighbor? To fully love our neighbor, we must know our neighbor, all our neighbors, know their challenges, their needs, their hopes and dreams. Through this series of classes, we will learn about the economic challenges and gaps in opportunity that exist in Edmond for many of our neighbors. Each evening, we will look at a different issue impacting our community, with experts in our congregation and city. Come get to “Know Your Neighbor!”
March 25 “Everyone Needs a Home,” speaker Christy Batterson from the City of Edmond will explore the obstacles surrounding affordable housing in Edmond.
April 8 “Lines We Live (or die) By,” speaker Josh Clements, FUMC Edmond member and nurse will share how disparity in access to medical care between socio-economic levels may make the difference, not just in quality of life, but in longevity.
April 15 “Food Insecurity in Our Midst,” speaker David Nichols, FUMC Edmond member, will share with us about our neighbors who live with food insecurity.
April 22 “Breaking the Cycle of Incarceration and Poverty,” speaker Kris Steele, Executive Director of The Education and Employment Ministry, TEEM, and life-long advocate for Criminal Justice reform will share about the difficulties our neighbors who have been involved in the legal system face and some of the effective approaches to public safety that address the root causes of crime.
April 29 “Mental Health, Care and Prevention,” Speaker Sheila Stinnet from Edmond Family Counseling will share what resources are available to families in Edmond when life gets hard, but also prevention programs.
May 6 “Aging in Edmond – Challenges Seniors Face,” speakers Cati Stanila and Cristi Twenter from Edmond Mobile Meals will share the issues of housing, food and transportation needs that this fastest growing demographic in Edmond experience
