Last week, the youth made over 100 care packages for Ice Angels. The bags consisted of socks, crackers, protein bars, water bottles, salty snacks, fruity snacks, and a handmade Christmas card from the youth. We prayed over the bags, and they will be delivered this Wednesday to all our Ice Angel friends!
The seniors will be starting a new adventure at youth on Wednesday evenings. They will be meeting as a group with three new teachers learning about life after high school as a disciple. Blayne Cook, Sarah Smith, and Quent Wheeler will be leading this wonderful group of seniors through questions from how to change a tire, to how to stay connected in the church after youth group. Please be in prayer for this group as they continue to build fruitful relationships with Jesus and others.
The youth have been learning about creative ways to pray and the importance of prayer. Last week, Bethany taught us how to pray through prayer stations. This Wednesday, we will hear from one of our college students, KC Curry, on how taking time to listen in quiet is important. She will be teaching on being joyful in solitude and rest. We will be taking a journey to Shannon Miller Park just to the Southwest of the church a block for programming.
The youth will be helping with VBS June 11th-14th. All youth will need to arrive on Monday at 5:15 for training. We will assist wherever needed for the week. If your child can help the whole week or part of the week please let Erica know at email@example.com
The youth have had an awesome March. We have been collecting food each week for Skyline in a healthy competition of mid-high vs. senior high. The senior high took the lead with over 200 items collected in four weeks. We hosted a District event of around 200 people in our gym where we played good ol’ fashion dodgeball. The mid-high team dominated by winning the mid-high bracket championship. Twenty-six youth and adults spent their spring break serving at Crosspoint camp. They picked up broken trees, raked leaves, placed a wooden cross on the beach, worshiped together, spent time on the lake, played games, and painted porches. It was a great week of mission and service. We ended the month with our annual Skyline Scavenger hunt, where we collected food for the final stretch of our church wide competition. We are gearing up and getting ready for a wonderful Sunrise service for Easter. We hope you will join us on April 1st in Wesley Hall at 7am.
The youth had a blast this month. We spent the month planning and getting ready for the biggest fundraiser of the year, Reverse Prom. The night was a magical Disney themed evening filled with great music, awesome decorations, and fun filled memories. The night was completely planned, decorated, and cleaned up by forty awesome youth. We wanted to say thank you to everyone who came and supported us financially. All the donations from the event go to help the youth attend summer camp. Here are a few pictures from the evening. Visit our website to see even more photos.
