Share the Grace Fund to benefit Neff Family

Isaiah 41:10 proclaims, “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God.  I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hands.”

On Friday July 28th, the Neff family arrived home from dinner, and to their utter shock, found their brand new home on fire.  Though the entire family had been at dinner, they tragically lost their five pets.  With their entire kitchen destroyed and much of the rest of the house damaged by fire, smoke, and soot, they reached out to their family, friends, and church for help and care in the immediate hours that followed.  Following the insurance inspection, they were told that they will hopefully be back in their home around Christmas.  In the immediacy the family will be staying with Charles’s family with the hope of moving into the guest house on their property by the time school starts.

Between Edmond First UMC, Grace UMC, Oklahoma City University, the Oklahoma Annual Conference, and the Shakeology communities, there has been an outpouring of prayer and support.  Countless people have asked how they can help the family either by volunteering or providingfinancial assistance.  Edmond First is currently setting up a

process to help organize support for the Neff Family, with Rev. Trey Witzel acting as the point person.  If you would like to be notified for work days at the Neff house or other volunteer opportunities, please email him at trey@fumcedmond.org.  If you would like to provide financial assistance, gift cards to Walmart or Target as well as local restaurants would be tremendously appreciated.  Edmond First is setting aside marked donations to the Neff family through our Share the Grace Fund as well.  Another way you can help the family is by signing up at https://mealtrain.com/yl8r0k to bring dinner to the family.  Charles’s mother is having surgery this week and meals would be a wonderful help.

If there is any way you would like to help, please email Rev. Witzel at trey@fumcedmond.org as he will be organizing and funneling all help in a way to best help care for the Neff family.  Please continue to keep the Neff family in your prayers.
