First United Methodist Church of Edmond will be receiving an additional associate minister at annual conference this year.  Trey Witzel will be appointed here June 1 with funds the congregation has received from the New People New Places grant.  Trey will be working with the Worship on Hurd service as well as general evangelism and member integration for our church.  This will be Trey’s first appointment within the Oklahoma Conference.  While spending the last three years in Boston, Trey will be graduating in May from Boston School of Theology.  Prior to Boston, Trey finished his undergraduate studies at Oklahoma City University.  Trey has experience working with campus ministry as he served as an intern at the Wesley Foundation at OCU.  He is a graduate of Putnam City North High School.  For the past two years, Trey has served as the Student-Licensed Local Pastor at Tewksbury United Methodist Church, taking the church from 20-25 in attendance to averaging 55-60.

While in Boston, Trey’s wife Addison received her Master’s of Higher Education in Student Affairs from Boston College and worked at Boston College’s Carroll School of Management in the Office of Graduate Admissions.  Both Trey and Addison are excited to be returning to Oklahoma with their dog Winnie.  We look forward to welcoming Trey and Addison to our church home in June!
