First United Methodist church is launching a brand new Sunday school class JUST for parents! Do you need a place to connect with other parents? Do you want to be a part of a Sunday School class but find the idea of being a first time visitor intimidating? Are you new to the area? Whatever your reason, Sunday school classes are a great way to meet other people and build lasting and meaningful relationships.
This class is special because unlike most established classes everyone one in it is new to the class and/or church. We are calling this class Cornerstone. It doesn’t matter if it will be your first time inside our church or your thousandth time you are invited. Our hope is that those who join this group will be nurtured as disciples while journeying with others who share the same joys and challenges of raising children.
Cornerstone will have its first meeting on December 4, at 9:45 a.m in room 208 of the Christian Activity Center. The first meeting will be a potluck brunch. You can, but are not required, to bring a food or drink item to share. There will not be a formal agenda for this first meeting. Instead, the group will spend time eating and getting to know each other. The following week Blayne and Tessa Cook will lead a two-part advent study. You are welcome and encouraged to invite your friends to be apart of Cornerstone. If you would like to be added to the class email list please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
