Fantastic Journey Children's Sunday School Program
Meaningful
Mission Experience
In February 2005,
while studying the “Feeding 5000,” the Cooking
rotation helped our children make over 170 lunches
for
the homeless. The sack lunches were delivered
each week to the City Rescue Mission in Downtown
Oklahoma City. Thank you to the Fantastic
Journey Engineers for February: Jen Basford, Amanda
Coleman, Jim Hagar and the team of Creative Cookers:
Eric and Caren Williams, Monty and Claudia Hampton,
and Julie and Aaron Mellor. We also want to express
our appreciation to the families that delivered the
lunches each week. Thank you to Steve and Kim Morey,
Doug and Tonya Puryear, JB and Amy Akin, and Johnny
and Amanda Coleman for your time and commitment to
this mission project. The February children’s
offering of $34.91 helped pay for the supplies to
make the lunches.
This was a
meaningful mission experience for all of the
children and families involved. Thank you to
everyone for your continued support and prayers for
our Fantastic Journey.
Fantastic Journey Children/Parents
You Can Make A Difference!
Our Fantastic
Journey offering for May 2005 will be collecting
supplies for kits to be offered to the Annual
Conference by churches statewide. These supplies
will then be sent to The United Methodist Committee
on Relief (UMCOR) who is often the first responder
when disaster strikes. A complete list of supplies
needed will be available during the children’s
Sunday school hour.
Sojourners Tsunami Relief
Fundraiser
The Sojourners class sends a huge THANK YOU for
making the Tsunami Super Bowl 2005 Tailgate Party a
great success and is
proud to send a donation to UMCOR for Tsunami relief
efforts in the amount of $632 as a result of the
generous donations that day!
UMCOR Southeast Asia Relief
Please note that all offerings for the relief
efforts in S.E. Asia received last Sunday, Jan. 2,
2005, will be reflected on your
2004
Record of Giving. These offerings were posted prior
to the year end to ensure our contributions were
sent as quickly as possible. To date, our
congregation has contributed $7,725.00. Thank you.
Youth Spring Mission Trip
The
Youth spent their Spring Break, March 17-21, on a
Mission Trip to Oklahoma City. They spent three days
in service to our local community and two days
having fun and fellowship together. In the evenings,
we attended worship together and then bunked down in
the Christian Activity Center. To make this all work
we had some adult help. Other volunteers fixed a
meal or two for our hardworking group and lent a
hand in other ways.
