Our Spring Shepherds are
Ralph Abrams, Anita Hail, Jill Hurt, Mr.
Kim, Kerry Oesterle, Jeanine Randall, Becky
Simpson and Sharon Wood.
Preschool Sunday School is available for children ages three years old to Pre-K. Our theme this month is change.
Our Bible verse is from 2 Corinthians 5:17 “See, everything has become new!” This month’s stories include Zacchaeus,
Peter at Pentecost, Paul’s Big Change and Lydia learns about Jesus.
We are excited to announce that Jamie Gorman will be assisting Jo Logan in the Preschool class this month. This will
give Jamie a chance to get to know our preschoolers in preparation for teaching the children this summer. Jamie will
be lead teacher for the Preschoolers in June, July and August. She will continue using the “Live Big” curriculum which
has been very successful with the children. Jo Logan and Kerry Oesterle will take a summer break from teaching.

Teddy Bear Love
Spread
Far and Wide
Thank you to all
who brought teddy bears to share,
and thank you to
all who prayed over them these past
weeks. 115 bears were shared
with the Deer Creek
Fire Department, the Bridge
Creek Fire Department, a
developing rural Preschool
Program, the Citizens
Caring for Children (who
assist and support DHS
Foster Parents) and Skyline’s
McKee Center. Our
biggest teddy bear friend has
gone to live at the
Manos Juntas Free Medical
Clinic to receive love and
hugs from many, many
children! Our First Church
children made tags to place
around each bear’s neck
that says, “This bear carries
the prayers, love and
support of the members and
children of First United
Methodist Church, Edmond,
Oklahoma. This bear has
been held, loved and soaked
with prayer so that when
you hold this bear, you may
believe that love bears all
things, believes all things,
hopes all things, endures all
things. Love never ends. 1
Corinthians 13.7-8.”

June 1st is Promotion Sunday
Promotion Sunday is an exciting day for our
Preschool Sunday School class. It is an
opportunity for our three to four years olds
to “move up” and join the big kid Sunday
School classes in the fall.
The difference between Preschool Sunday
School and “Big Kid” Sunday School is this:
in the older classes, children rotate
through different classrooms and teachers
throughout the month. Of course, in
preschool classes the children remain in the
same room with the same teacher. As
parents, you know your child best. If you
feel your child will be ready to move to the
Kindergarten class next fall, please notify
Rev. Jeni (jeni@fumcedmond.org
/ 341-0107, ext. 128) or Jo Logan
(loganhoneyhillfarm@sbcglobal.net).
Thank you in advance for notifying us
regarding your child’s promotion. It
really helps us have an accurate count for
the Kindergarten Vacation Bible School and
Sunday School.

Kids! Help
Make Your Family
Eco-Aware and Responsible

Let's turn our paper and recycling
into CASH!
Talk to your family about
recycling paper and help make sure that you
have a place to collect it that everyone in
the family knows about. Then help make sure
your family brings it's paper to the church
to the Recycling Bin! Be your family's
Paper Recycling Monitor!
Doing this keeps all of
this paper out of Landfills which is good
for the Environment. It also saves a lot of
trees from needing to be cut down!
You can bring all kinds
of paper such as, newspapers,
junk mail, copy paper, computer printer
paper, magazines, ads, catalogs, etc. can be
recycled.
All paper goods
are welcome, but please exclude cardboard
and paper that was wrapping foods.
Bring
paper from home, neighborhood (let your
neighbors know to either bring their paper
to our bins or collect it and bring it
yourself), office, co-workers, dorm room,
entire dorm, EVERYWHERE! Thanks again to all
of you for making this a successful program!
We do ask that you take appropriate caution
with paper containing any sensitive or
personal information. If you do bring
shredded paper, please have it in a plastic
bag.
We have two recycling bins and they are
located in the parking lot west of the main
church building. Remember that by recycling
paper we help the church and help the
environment. Thanks for your help!
