Sunday School for Adults
 
EMMANUEL...Main Building Room 207
This class enjoys a wide age range and studies the International Adult Bible Series with lively member discussion.  Mission projects include annual garage sale for Fair Share Goals, HOPE Center, Battered Women, Methodist Children's Home, and Christmas family adoption.  Frequent parties in homes encourage fellowship in this class.

EPWORTH....Main Building Room 101
Primarily middle and older adults, this class studies the International Adult Bible Series and has three alternating teachers.  Their mission projects include:  Fair Share Goals, Skyline Urban Ministries, and Mobile Meals. 

EXPERIENCE....Christian Activity Center Room 108
Middle to older adults.  Currently studying for the Lenten Season, "The Common People Heard Him Gladly" by James W. Moore.  After Easter the class will continue our discussion of "The Purpose Driven Life" by Rick Warren.  Members are involved in many church activities, quarterly socials and Fair Share Mission.  Everyone is welcome.

FAITH
....Christian Activity Center Room 107
Primarily middle to older adults, this class studies the International Adult Bible Series using a team of teachers.  Class members participate in a wide range of service and mission activities.

FOOTSTEPS....Main Building Room B4 (Basement)
This discussion class enjoys a wide age range and various study topics.  Currently studying "A Study of Romans, Good News for God's People" by William Carter.  The class will move to an Advent study to prepare for Christmas.  This is one of the newer classes experiencing opportunities to step into a new understanding of Discipleship.

FORUM
....Main Building Room 205 (The Conference Room/Library)
A mature businesswomen's discussion class led by class members on various studies in Christian living.  These women participate in service projects:  Francis Willard Home for Girls (UM Home in Tulsa), HOPE Center, and Mobile Meals.  They enjoy monthly social events.  New members are welcome!

GENESIS
....Christian Activity Center Room 209
A friendly, warm, caring class open to all ages who are desiring to grow in the Spirit and willing to serve in many ways.  The study curriculum varies and is taught by class members.  Recent topics have included, "The Purpose Driven Life," "The Top Ten List for Christians," "Revelation," "All I Want for Christmas," Lenten Study and many other Christian books and topics.  The class sponsors an annual church-wide Fall Spaghetti Dinner and Spring Garage Sale for Mission Projects and Fair Share Goals.  We also adopt a family for Christmas.  We are fun loving and active with frequent fellowship gatherings.

GOOD NEWS
....Main Building Room 107
This class enjoys a wide age range and is currently exploring a series of United Methodist studies that challenge United Methodists to engage in life transforming practices.  Their current study is "How United Methodists Study Scripture".  A special Advent study will guide them toward Christmas.  Quarterly socials and service projects are a regular occurrence for this class.

 

HOMEBUILDERS....Christian Activity Center Room 210
The new class called “Homebuilders” had more than 25 people on its first Sunday! The class meets in Room 210 of the Christian Activity Center and studies family and parenting topics. They would love to have you come to join them!


INQUIRERS
....Main Building Room 102
A diverse group of all ages seeking God's wisdom through life's experiences using a variety of discussion-oriented materials.  This class participates in various service and mission projects throughout the year.

JOURNEY
....Christian Activity Center Room 210
Primarily a class with parents of young children and youth, this class seeks new possibilities of exploring faith through a variety of topics and studies.  Together they journey through new doors that lead them in an ever-deepening commitment to Christ. 


OPEN DOOR
....Christian Activity Center Room 207
A large class of parents of older elementary children and youth.  They use a variety of materials encouraging a lively, engaging discussion.  This class enjoys several social activities throughout the year. 


PHOENIX....Main Building Room 101
This class is for single adults of all ages.  Currently studying the book by James Moore, "Yes, Lord I have Sinned but I Have Several Excellent Excuses".  Class members meet monthly and for periodic social activities.

Micah 6:8 (…act justly, love mercy and walk humbly...) serves as the inspiration of this class of Christ-loving adults. We employ a variety of media including Bible study, workbooks, video, and open discussion of current events or issues, all designed to strengthen our commitment as Christians. The class also enjoys many social activities and involvement in mission projects. Come, join us as we continue on our sojourn to learn and live the word!

 

YOUNG ADULTS....Wesley Foundation Building (East Side)
Walk Like a Christian (taught by Dwayne Hunt) Beginning Sunday, October 8th the Young Adult Sunday School class will be studying Dr. James Moore’s book “When You’re A Christian, The Whole World Is From Missouri”.  This book looks at the needs of Christians to prove themselves to others by their actions.  Our first lesson will review the Introduction and Chapter 1, Can The World See Your Christian Gumption?  If you have not picked up your copy of this book for study or you are interested in joining this class please contact Rev. Paul Calkin at 341-0107 to get your copy of the book so we can have a lively discussion on October 8th.  We are always looking for new members so if you are a high school graduate, a young adult in your 30’s or anywhere in between, please join us each Sunday morning in the East side of the Wesley building at 9:45 a.m.  This class will not meet on Sunday, October 1st to allow everyone to attend the single worship service beginning at 10:30 a.m. in celebration of World Communion Sunday.
